Dr. 詹妮弗·弗林·伍迪

传记

I completed my undergraduate degree at Saginaw Valley State University and then attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where I earned my M.S. in Exercise Physiology and my Ph.D. in Kinesiology and Sport Studies with a concentration in Exercise Physiology. 毕业后, I continued my training by way of a postdoctoral fellowship with the Children’s Physical Activity Research Group, 安置在部门内. of 运动科学 in the Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina. Following my postdoctoral fellowship in August 2016, I returned to East Tennessee and joined the 澳门官方老葡京 family.

The classes I have been privileged to teach primarily involve the human body: how it works, how physical activity and the outdoors influence it, 以及如何保持健康. 我教授的课程包括:

Growing up in rural Northeast Michigan, I spent most of my time outdoors which has fostered a love for nature, 户外活动, 和保护. When I’m not in the classroom, you can usually find me with my husband and our dogs in a boat, 在河岸上, 或者在树林里. My 研究 interests highlights the relationship between physical activity, 户外时间, and health in children and adults. 进一步, I am interested in strategies and programs that provide children with opportunities to spend more time outdoors, either through sport or free play and becoming stewards and advocates for the environment. I am involved in several organizations at the regional and national level, including the American College of Sports Medicine and the North American Society for Pediatric Exercise Medicine as well as on the Board of Directors for the American Forest Kindergarten Association.
